Shivpuri: In a major push toward industrial expansion and defense self-reliance, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia laid the foundation stone of a ₹2,500 crore Adani Defence and Aerospace manufacturing facility in Pali village of Shivpuri district. The project is being positioned as a landmark step in India’s journey toward becoming an exporter of defense equipment under the vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.
The event was marked by multiple development announcements, infrastructure commitments, and policy statements highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s emergence as a fast-growing investment destination.
India’s Shift from Defense Importer to Exporter
Addressing a large public gathering at Shivpuri’s Polo Ground, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that India has transformed from a defense-import dependent nation to a growing exporter of military equipment.
He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the “double-engine government” model for strengthening India’s defense ecosystem, boosting indigenous manufacturing, and encouraging private sector participation.
According to the Chief Minister, the new defense facility will strengthen India’s strategic capabilities while reducing dependence on foreign suppliers.

Adani Defence and Aerospace Plant: A Strategic Mega Project
The ₹2,500 crore Adani Defence and Aerospace plant in Shivpuri is expected to become one of South Asia’s largest private-sector missile ecosystem manufacturing hubs.
The facility will reportedly include end-to-end production capabilities—from raw materials to finished defense systems such as missiles and ammunition.

₹211 Crore Development Projects Announced for Shivpuri
Alongside the defense project, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 38 development projects worth over ₹211 crore.
Breakdown of Development Works:
- ₹166.72 crore: Inauguration of 28 completed projects
- ₹44.57 crore: Foundation stone for 10 new projects
Additionally, three newly constructed Sandipani Model Higher Secondary School buildings worth ₹106 crore were inaugurated to strengthen the state’s education infrastructure.
Major Infrastructure and Public Welfare Announcements
The Chief Minister announced several new infrastructure and public welfare projects for Shivpuri district, aimed at improving connectivity, healthcare, education, and civic amenities.

Road and Urban Development
- Construction of a 14 km four-lane circular road in Shivpuri city at a cost of ₹120 crore
- Improved traffic management infrastructure in urban areas
Healthcare Expansion
- 200-bed children’s hospital at Shivpuri District Hospital
- Cardiology unit and super specialty upgrades at Gwalior Medical College
Administrative and Education Expansion
- Creation of a new tehsil in Subhashpura
- Opening of a government college in Khod
- New primary health center in Veera (Pichhore constituency)
- New Sandipani School in Kolaras constituency
Connectivity and Rural Development
- Construction of a paved road from Karera to Bhitarwar via Samoha Dam
- Establishment of a fruit and vegetable market in the district
Tourism Push: 108-Foot Shiva Statue Planned
To boost tourism in the region, the state government announced the development of a tourism center featuring a 108-foot tall Lord Shiva statue in Shivpuri city.
Officials expect this initiative to enhance cultural tourism and attract visitors to the region, adding a new dimension to local economic development.
Madhya Pradesh Positioned as Investment Hub
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a trusted destination for industrial investment due to investor-friendly policies, simplified approval systems, and infrastructure development.
He said the state is now attracting large-scale manufacturing projects across sectors including defense, aviation, logistics, and heavy industry.
Scindia Highlights India’s Growing Defense Strength
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized that India is now recognized globally as a strong, self-reliant defense manufacturing nation.
He said initiatives like “Make in India,” defense corridors, and indigenous systems such as advanced air defense platforms are transforming India’s strategic capabilities.
Scindia added that Shivpuri’s strategic connectivity via expressways and industrial corridors makes it an emerging logistics and investment powerhouse.
Job Creation and Regional Economic Growth
The defense manufacturing plant is expected to generate thousands of employment opportunities for local youth and strengthen micro and small industries linked to the defense supply chain.
