Bhopal: Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved financial proposals worth ₹38,555 crore aimed at accelerating infrastructure development, agricultural self-reliance, digital expansion, and social welfare across the state.
₹38,555 Crore Boost for Public Welfare and Development Projects
The Cabinet cleared major funding for multiple sectors including:
- Roads and infrastructure development
- Agriculture and self-reliance missions
- Women and child welfare schemes
- IT and electronics expansion
- Administrative digital connectivity
The decisions focus on strengthening long-term growth under the 16th Finance Commission period (2026–2031).
₹32,405 Crore Approved for Roads, Bridges and Housing Maintenance
The largest allocation of ₹32,405 crore has been approved for the Public Works Department.
Key components include:
- Rural road construction and upgradation
- Maintenance of government housing
- Road safety infrastructure
- Bridge and connectivity improvement projects
This will significantly enhance rural-urban connectivity across Madhya Pradesh.
₹2,442 Crore Mission to Make Madhya Pradesh Self-Reliant in Pulses
The Cabinet approved the “Dalhano Mein Atmanirbharata Mission” with an outlay of ₹2,442.04 crore for five years (2026–2031).
Key objectives:
- Increase pulse production and cultivation area
- Promote climate-resilient seed varieties
- Strengthen processing and storage infrastructure
- Provide training and support to farmers
The mission aims to reduce import dependence and increase agricultural productivity.
₹2,412 Crore for Anganwadi Centres and Child Protection Mission
For women and child development, the government approved:
- Construction of 1,500 new Anganwadi centres
- Strengthening of Mission Vatsalya scheme
- Nutrition, education and protection for children
- Improved child welfare infrastructure
This step focuses on strengthening grassroots-level social protection.
₹1,295 Crore for IT, Electronics and Digital Infrastructure Development
To boost digital transformation, the Cabinet approved ₹1,295.52 crore for:
- Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) in Bhopal
- IT investment promotion schemes
- SWAN network expansion across government offices
- Digital training for officials under e-governance programs
This aims to position Madhya Pradesh as an emerging IT hub.
State Trader Welfare Board to Strengthen Business Ecosystem
A major decision was the formation of the State Trader Welfare Board, designed to:
- Address traders’ issues and grievances
- Create direct government–business coordination
- Support ease of doing business in the state
- Strengthen local trade and economic activity
The Chief Minister will chair the board along with senior ministers, officials, and industry representatives.
