New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Limited has commissioned an additional 153.94 MW of solar power capacity at its Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, taking the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited group to 11,212.51 MW.
The latest capacity addition became commercially operational from 00:00 hours on October 1, 2026, according to the company’s disclosure to the stock exchanges.
NTPC Green Energy Adds 153.94 MW Solar Capacity
The newly commissioned capacity comprises two parts of the Kalasar Solar Energy Project:
- 73.06 MW
- 80.88 MW
- Total addition: 153.94 MW
Following the commissioning, the group’s total installed capacity increased from 11,058.57 MW to 11,212.51 MW.

Kalasar Project Part of Larger 500 MW RTC Project
The latest commissioning is part of a larger renewable energy development.
The Kalasar project forms part of a 650 MW solar component, which itself is associated with a 500 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) project of REMCL.
The project is being executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy.
The latest capacity addition is therefore one phase of a larger project being commissioned in stages.
NTPC Green Energy’s Recent Capacity Additions
The latest Kalasar commissioning follows several capacity additions by NTPC Green Energy in recent months.
The company had earlier commissioned:
- 68.22 MW from the third phase of the 200 MW Dahod Solar Project in Gujarat, effective July 23, 2026.
- 9.45 MW from the third part of the Vanki Wind Energy Project in Kutch, Gujarat, effective September 19, 2026.
- 81.34 MW at the Kalasar Solar Energy Project on September 26, 2026.
Before the latest 153.94 MW addition, these commissioning activities had taken the group’s installed capacity to 11,058.57 MW.
Kalasar Solar Project Capacity Expansion
The latest development represents another stage in the commissioning of the Kalasar Solar Energy Project.
The company had already commissioned 81.34 MW at the project on September 26, 2026. With the addition of another 153.94 MW, the capacity commissioned at the project has increased further.
The phased commissioning is part of NTPC Green Energy’s broader renewable energy expansion.
NTPC Green Energy Group Capacity Reaches 11,212.51 MW
With the latest addition, the installed capacity progression of the NTPC Green Energy Limited group is as follows:
- 10,911.08 MW after commissioning 68.22 MW at the Dahod Solar Project.
- 10,920.53 MW after adding 9.45 MW from the Vanki Wind Energy Project.
- 11,058.57 MW after commissioning 81.34 MW at the Kalasar project.
- 11,212.51 MW after the latest addition of 153.94 MW at Kalasar.
The latest commissioning further increases the group’s renewable energy capacity across solar and wind projects.
NTPC Group Installed Capacity
At the parent company level, NTPC Limited has disclosed that the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group stands at 91,164 MW.
Following the latest commercial capacity declarations, the group’s commercial capacity stands at 90,084 MW.
