Calgary/New Delhi: In a significant step toward strengthening India’s clean energy transition, Oil India Limited has signed a comprehensive collaboration framework with the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC), Canada. The agreement was formalized on June 10, 2026, on the sidelines of the Global Energy Show 2026 in Calgary.
The partnership focuses on advanced technologies including carbon capture, geothermal energy, enhanced oil recovery, and subsurface energy research.

The agreement was signed in the presence of senior dignitaries, including:

- High Commissioner of India to Canada

Development of advanced EOR technologies to improve extraction efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
3. Business Development and Investment Linkages
Both organizations will explore commercial opportunities and technology transfer between India and Canada.
4. Geothermal Energy Research
Joint exploration of geothermal energy potential, especially in India’s northeastern regions where Oil India has significant operations.
5. Subsurface Energy Innovation
Collaboration through PTRC’s Energy Innovation Hub for underground energy production and storage research.
6. Startup and Innovation Ecosystem Support
Integration with mc2+, a Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas initiative, to support clean energy startups and innovation-driven projects.
