Pauri Garhwal: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on June 15 inaugurated the modern District Science Museum on Srinagar Road in Pauri Garhwal during his official visit. On the same occasion, he also launched the Kandoliya Mahotsav at Ramlila Ground and announced 19 development projects worth ₹110.55 crore for the district.
The development package includes the inauguration of five completed projects and the foundation laying of 14 new projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure and public facilities in the region.
District Science Museum Promotes Innovation and Scientific Learning
Chief Minister Dhami formally inaugurated the District Science Museum and reviewed its facilities, including interactive learning systems and science-based educational exhibits.
He was briefed on various experiential learning modules designed to promote practical understanding among students. Dhami appreciated efforts to encourage scientific thinking, innovation, and curiosity among school children.
Students from different schools also interacted with the Chief Minister and explained several exhibits. He actively engaged with demonstrations covering topics such as:
- Space science
- Energy systems
- Environmental science
- Technological innovations
Dhami said science museums play an important role in developing curiosity, research aptitude, and scientific awareness among students.
He added that the museum would serve not just as an exhibition centre but also as a modern hub for science education and innovation, helping students move beyond textbook learning.
Kandoliya Mahotsav Launched as State-Sponsored Cultural Festival
After the museum inauguration, the Chief Minister visited Kandoliya Temple and offered prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Uttarakhand.
He later inaugurated the Kandoliya Pauri Mahotsav at Ramlila Ground and announced that it would now be developed as a state-sponsored festival under the official government programme framework.
Dhami said the festival would showcase Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage, folk traditions, and young talent on a larger platform.
₹110 Crore Development Projects Announced for Pauri District
During the event, CM Dhami announced 19 development projects worth approximately ₹110.55 crore for Pauri Garhwal.
These include:
- 5 completed projects inaugurated
- 14 new projects with foundation laid
He described the initiative as a “new chapter” in the district’s development, saying it would improve infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for residents.
Focus on Development, Heritage, and Youth Employment
Speaking on Uttarakhand’s development journey, Dhami said the state is progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi while balancing development with cultural heritage preservation.
He highlighted key initiatives such as:
- House of Himalayas
- One District–Two Products scheme
- Millet Mission
- Tourism and Film Policy
- Self-employment programmes
- Homestay schemes
He also noted that the Char Dham Yatra continues to attract lakhs of devotees every year, strengthening tourism in the state.
Strict Laws and Transparent Recruitment Highlighted
The Chief Minister also underlined key governance reforms introduced in Uttarakhand, including:
- Strict anti-copying law for examinations
- Over 33,000 government jobs provided in four years through transparent recruitment
He said these measures aim to protect youth interests and ensure fairness in public recruitment processes.
Focus on Culture, Identity, and Law Reforms
Dhami reiterated that protecting Uttarakhand’s Sanatan culture, original identity, and social harmony remains a top priority.
He highlighted several legal and policy measures including:
- Uniform Civil Code (UCC)
- Anti-conversion law
- Anti-riot law
- Strict land law
Key Development Projects in Pauri-Srinagar Region
The Chief Minister also reviewed ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects in the Pauri and Srinagar region, including:
- State’s first NCC Academy
- NIT campus development
- Ganga Sanskriti Kendra
- Singtali Bridge project
- Pauri-Srinagar road widening
- Lake development projects
- Driving test track
- Sports infrastructure upgrades
He said these projects will boost regional development, tourism, and employment opportunities.
