Following a circular issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on February 22nd, a major shake-up of high-ranking police officials was carried out in Rajasthan, transferring as many as 24 IPS officers. Superintendents of Police (SPs) from 11 districts — Bhilwara, Sikar, Phalodi, Kekri, Dungarpur, Beawar, Sirohi, Jalore and Bhiwadi were reshuffled.
Incumbent as the Additional Director General (Civil Rights), the 1995 batch IPS officer, Ms. Smita Srivastava, was instructed to assume office as the Additional Director General (ADG) in Anti-Corruption Bureau-II (ACB). Ms. Srivastava was replaced by Officer Bhupendra Sahu (IPS 1999 batch).
The 1998 batch IPS officer, Mr. Bipin Kumar Pandey, was mandated to assume office as the Additional Director General of Police (Police Welfare).
The Bhajanlal Sharma led government had earlier instructed several changes in the state’s administrative structure by transferring as many as 396 police personnel of the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS).
