Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, a 1989-batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, reviewed the implementation of the Viksit Bharat–Jan Seva Abhiyan and directed departments to step up monitoring, grievance redressal and delivery of welfare benefits to eligible beneficiaries.
The month-long campaign is being conducted across Rajasthan from September 17 to October 17 and includes 12 flagship activities. More than 1.37 crore citizens have participated in the campaign so far, according to reports on the state government’s review.
Daily Reviews and Real-Time Monitoring
Srinivas chaired the review meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday, where officials discussed departmental progress, field-level implementation and the delivery of welfare benefits.
He directed departments to conduct daily reviews and submit real-time progress reports. Officials were also asked to document campaign activities through audio-visual material, conduct verification at the district level and compile documented success stories.
The Chief Secretary also called for greater use of local media to publicise campaign activities and stressed coordination among departments for monitoring implementation.
Focus on Pending Grievances and Welfare Benefits
Srinivas directed officials to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive welfare scheme benefits within the stipulated time. He also asked departments to give priority to pending grievances received through rural service camps.
Applications and complaints received during the campaign were also to be processed promptly, with field-level officials directed to work towards the campaign’s stated objectives.
Senior Officials Join Review
The meeting was attended by Abhay Kumar (IAS: 1992: Rajasthan), State Coordinator and Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources; Kuldeep Ranka (IAS: 1994: Rajasthan), Additional Chief Secretary, Higher and Technical Education; Praveen Gupta (IAS: 1995: Rajasthan), Additional Chief Secretary, Youth Affairs and Sports; Alok Gupta (IAS: 1996: Rajasthan), Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development; and Rajesh Kumar Yadav (IAS: 1996: Rajasthan), Additional Chief Secretary, School Education.
Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of concerned departments also participated, while Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors joined the meeting through video conference.
The review comes as Rajasthan continues the Jan Seva Abhiyan through October 17, with the administration focusing on monitoring campaign activities and resolving applications and grievances received during the drive.
