New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development of the ERES-47: Nawada–Durgapur–Jeerat (New) 765kV inter-state transmission corridor. The project, aimed at strengthening India’s Eastern Region power grid, will be executed under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.
The bid submission deadline has been set for 11 August 2026 (15:00 IST).
Major 765kV Transmission Corridor Across Bihar and West Bengal
The proposed transmission project is designed to complete and strengthen the 765kV network in the Eastern Region, improving power reliability for Bihar, West Bengal, and the Kolkata region.
Key components of the project include:
- New 765/400/220 kV substation at Nawada (Bihar)
- New 765kV switching station at Durgapur (West Bengal)
- LILO of Gaya–Ballia 765kV single circuit line at Nawada
- Nawada–Durgapur (New) 765kV double circuit line
- Durgapur (New)–Jeerat (New) 765kV double circuit line
- Extension of Jeerat (New) 765/400kV substation
The Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) for the project is 31 March 2029.
BOOT Model with 35-Year Concession Period
The transmission corridor will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. The selected developer will operate the project for 35 years, after which the assets will be transferred to the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) at zero cost.
