New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a ₹967.93 crore EPC railway infrastructure project awarded by East Coast Railway. The project is part of RVNL’s normal course of business and focuses on expanding rail capacity along a key corridor in Odisha.

The project involves the construction of third and fourth railway lines across two major sections:

  • Nergundi–Barang (22 km)

  • Fabrication and installation of major steel girder bridges
  • Integration with existing railway infrastructure
  • Completion within a three-year timeframe

The Bhadrak–Vizianagaram corridor is a strategically important railway route in eastern India. The project is expected to:

  • Increase rail line capacity
  • Improve traffic flow and operational efficiency
  • Reduce congestion on existing routes

This expansion aligns with Indian Railways’ broader focus on upgrading high-density corridors.
