New Delhi: The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Marine Living Resources & Ecology (CMLRE), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, for the installation of a Grid Connected Rooftop Solar (GCRT) System at CMLRE in Kochi, Kerala.
The rooftop solar project will be implemented under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, supporting the Government of India’s efforts to expand solar energy adoption across government institutions and promote a sustainable and greener energy ecosystem.
SECI-CMLRE MoU for Rooftop Solar Installation
The collaboration between SECI and CMLRE aims to facilitate the adoption of renewable energy at the government institution through a grid-connected rooftop solar system.

MoU Signed by SECI and CMLRE Officials
The MoU was formally signed and exchanged by senior officials representing both organisations.
Dr. R. S. Maheskumar, Head and Scientist ‘G’, CMLRE, signed on behalf of the Centre for Marine Living Resources & Ecology, while Manas Ranjan Mishra, DGM and HoD (Solar), SECI, represented the Solar Energy Corporation of India.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation between the two government institutions for the rooftop solar installation at CMLRE.
Rooftop Solar to Support Clean Energy Adoption
The initiative is part of the wider push to increase the use of renewable energy in government buildings and institutions. By installing a grid-connected rooftop solar system, CMLRE will be able to integrate solar power into its energy infrastructure while supporting the country’s clean energy transition.
