Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has ordered another round of reshuffle in the police department, transferring and promoting six senior police officers, including five IPS officers, across key positions in the state.
According to an order issued by K. Manivasan, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), the reshuffle includes postings in Traffic and Road Safety, district police administration and Crime Against Women and Children units.
P.K. Senthil Kumari Posted as IGP Traffic and Road Safety
As per the order, P.K. Senthil Kumari, Inspector General of Police (IGP), who was on compulsory wait, has been appointed as Inspector General of Police, Traffic and Road Safety, Chennai, against an existing vacancy.
Dongare Pravin Umesh Appointed SP Tiruchirappalli
Dongare Pravin Umesh, Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Western Range, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Tiruchirappalli district, replacing S. Selvanagarathinam.
V. Shyamala Devi Shifted to Crime Against Women and Children Wing
V. Shyamala Devi, Superintendent of Police of Thirupathur district, has been transferred to Chennai and posted as SP-II, Crime Against Women and Children.
S. Ashok Kumar Posted as SP Tenkasi
S. Ashok Kumar, currently serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Coimbatore City, has been appointed Superintendent of Police, Tenkasi district.
Two ASPs Promoted as Superintendents of Police
The Tamil Nadu government has also promoted two Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police.
Akshay Anil Wakhare Promoted
Akshay Anil Wakhare, ASP of Hosur Sub-Division in Krishnagiri district, has been promoted and posted as Superintendent of Police, Thirupathur district, replacing V. Shyamala Devi.
V. Lalith Kumar Gets SP Rank
V. Lalith Kumar, ASP of Nagercoil Sub-Division in Kanniyakumari district, has also been promoted as Superintendent of Police and posted as SP, Perambalur district, replacing K. Prabakar.
Officials said the reshuffle is aimed at strengthening policing administration and improving operational efficiency across districts and specialised police units.
