Uttarakhand CM Dhami Pushes Rani Bagh-Bhimtal Ropeway Project to Boost Kumaon Tourism and Connectivity

The proposed ropeway project aims to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, strengthen tourism infrastructure, and boost the regional economy in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to expedite the Rani Bagh-Bhimtal Ropeway Project, highlighting its importance for improving connectivity, strengthening infrastructure, and promoting tourism in the Kumaon region.

The Chief Minister said that ropeway projects connecting major tourist destinations of Kumaon are being given priority by the state government to make travel easier and provide better transportation facilities for visitors.

Rani Bagh-Bhimtal Ropeway Project to Improve Tourism Connectivity

The proposed Rani Bagh-Bhimtal ropeway project is expected to play a significant role in enhancing tourism infrastructure in the region.

During a meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, Bhavna Mehra, Vice-Chairperson of the Housing Advisory Council, met CM Dhami and submitted a letter regarding the early implementation of the project.

She highlighted that the project would not only increase tourism activities but also contribute to the overall development of infrastructure in the area.

Government Prioritising Ropeway Projects Across Kumaon

CM Dhami stated that the state government is focusing on developing ropeway connectivity to important tourism and religious destinations across Uttarakhand.

Along with the Rani Bagh-Bhimtal ropeway, special attention is being given to ropeway projects connecting:

  • Nainital
  • Kainchi Dham
  • Other major tourist and pilgrimage destinations in Kumaon

These projects are aimed at providing faster and more convenient transportation options for tourists and local residents.

Ropeways to Reduce Travel Time and Boost Local Economy

The Uttarakhand government expects that the completion of these ropeway projects will bring multiple benefits, including:

  • Easier movement of tourists to popular destinations
  • Reduction in travel time
  • Improved connectivity in hilly areas
  • Growth in tourism-related businesses
  • Strengthening of the regional economy

Ropeway infrastructure is considered especially important in mountainous regions like Uttarakhand, where road expansion can be challenging due to geographical conditions.

CM Dhami Directs Officials for Faster Implementation

The Chief Minister has instructed concerned departments and officials to take necessary action for the timely progress of the Rani Bagh-Bhimtal ropeway project.

The government aims to develop modern transport infrastructure that supports tourism growth while improving accessibility to key destinations in the Kumaon division.
