Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited Kamraud village in the Bagbahara development block of Mahasamund district as part of “Sushasan Tihar 2026”, where he held a public chaupal under a massive banyan tree and interacted directly with villagers to review the on-ground implementation of welfare schemes.
Before the public interaction, the Chief Minister visited a Maa Durga temple and offered prayers, seeking peace, prosperity, and well-being for the people of the state.
CM Reviews Implementation of Welfare Schemes at Grassroots Level
During the village interaction, CM Sai engaged in a direct dialogue with residents and emphasized that the government is actively reaching villages to ensure benefits of key welfare schemes such as:
- Public Distribution System (ration)
- Electricity supply services
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
- Mahtari Vandan Yojana
- Other state and central welfare programs
He said the objective of Sushasan Tihar is to bring governance directly to citizens’ doorsteps and ensure quick resolution of public grievances.
The Chief Minister also stated that he has already visited 16 districts across the state under this initiative to understand public issues firsthand.
Women Share Feedback on Mahtari Vandan Yojana
CM Sai also interacted with women beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, who confirmed that financial assistance is being received regularly.
A beneficiary, Dev Kumari Sahu, shared that she is saving the assistance amount for her daughter’s future. The Chief Minister appreciated the feedback and reiterated the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment.
Youth Engagement and Inspirational Moments at Chaupal
The event also saw light-hearted and encouraging interactions with local children. The Chief Minister clicked a selfie with a Class 5 student, Purvansh Sahu, boosting enthusiasm among young attendees.
Women associated with the Bihan scheme shared their success stories. One beneficiary, Pari Sahu, said she has become self-reliant by running a fancy and grocery shop after joining the scheme.
Another beneficiary, Madhu Sahu, highlighted water scarcity issues affecting fish farming during summer.
CM Addresses Farmers’ Concerns Over Fertilizer Supply
During discussions with farmers, CM Sai acknowledged challenges in fertilizer availability due to international conditions and geopolitical tensions.
He assured that the government is working continuously to ensure timely supply of fertilizers to farmers and encouraged the use of nano urea as an alternative.
He also announced that the state government will soon launch:
- An online grievance redressal system
- A toll-free helpline number for public complaints
These measures aim to make problem resolution faster and more accessible.
Updates on PM Awas Yojana and Rural Infrastructure
The Chief Minister informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the state has sanctioned around 18 lakh housing units, with construction of an additional 10 lakh houses underway.
He also highlighted that Atal Digital Service Centers have been established at the panchayat level to improve digital access to government services.
Development Announcements for Kamraud Village
Responding to local demands raised by villagers and women during the chaupal, CM Sai announced several development initiatives for the area, including:
- A multipurpose community building (fully equipped facility)
- Construction of a 4-kilometer road from Kamraud to Charoda
- Development of a Mukti Dham (cremation ground)
These announcements were made on the spot as part of grievance redressal during the public interaction.
Distribution of Assistive Devices to Divyang Beneficiaries
As part of the outreach program, the Chief Minister also distributed assistive devices to three Divyang (differently-abled) beneficiaries, reinforcing the government’s focus on inclusive development.
