New Delhi/Jammu/Thiruvananthapuram: A series of administrative decisions by the Centre and the Kerala government has resulted in fresh postings across the civil services. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred IAS officer Yasin Choudhary from the Puducherry segment of the AGMUT cadre to Mizoram, while the Department of Revenue has appointed Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer T Chitraa as Deputy Director of Enforcement in the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Meanwhile, the Kerala government has rationalised the allocation of portfolios among several senior IAS officers.
Yasin Choudhary Shifted from Puducherry to Mizoram
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a single transfer order moving Yasin Choudhary, an IAS officer from the AGMUT cadre who hails from Jammu and Kashmir, from the Puducherry segment to Mizoram.
Choudhary was handling several important departments in Puducherry before his transfer. According to sources, the move comes amid a shortage of IAS officers in Mizoram, prompting the Centre to strengthen the state’s administrative machinery.
IRAS Officer T Chitraa Appointed Deputy Director in ED
In another appointment, Ms. T Chitraa, an Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer currently serving as Senior Divisional Finance Manager (Sr. DFM), Salem Division, Southern Railway, has been appointed as Deputy Director of Enforcement in the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.
She has been appointed on deputation for a period of three years.
The posting places the experienced railway finance officer in one of the country’s premier financial investigation agencies responsible for probing money laundering and foreign exchange violations.
Kerala Government Rationalises Senior IAS Portfolios
The Kerala government has also undertaken a reshuffle of senior IAS officers to streamline the distribution of responsibilities among officers holding multiple portfolios.
As part of the changes:
- Puneet Kumar, Resident Commissioner at Kerala House, New Delhi, has been entrusted with full additional charge of inter-state water matters in the Water Resources Department.
- Additional Chief Secretary Minhaj Alam has been assigned additional charge of the Industries (Coir) Department while being relieved of the additional responsibilities of Sports & Youth Affairs, Zoos, Museums, Archaeology and Archives.
- Principal Secretary (Health) Sharmila Mary Joseph has been given full additional charge of the Ayush Department.
Fresh Responsibilities for Other Kerala IAS Officers
The reshuffle also includes several other important assignments.
N. Prasanth has been posted as Special Secretary with independent charge of the Sports & Youth Affairs, Zoos, Museums, Archaeology and Archives Departments.
Suhas S, Special Secretary in the Water Resources Department, has been given additional charge as Special Secretary (Housing) and Managing Director of KIIIDC.
K. Inbasekar, Managing Director of the Kerala Water Authority (KWA), has been transferred as Director of Cultural Affairs in a newly created ex-cadre post. He will also hold additional responsibilities as Registrar of Cooperative Societies and Additional Project Director of the Kerala Climate Resilient Agri-Value Chain Modernisation Project.
Meanwhile, Sriram V, Director of Agriculture, has been given full additional charge as Managing Director of KASE.
Prem Krishnan S, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, has been transferred as Joint Secretary, Water Resources Department, and has also been entrusted with additional charge as Managing Director of the Kerala Water Authority.
The latest administrative changes are aimed at ensuring a more balanced distribution of responsibilities while strengthening governance across departments.
