Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the “Natural Farming Workshop 2026” held at Kanpur, aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture and connecting farmers with modern farming technologies.
During the event, he also felicitated progressive farmers for their outstanding contribution to natural farming practices.
Natural Farming as the Key to a Healthy and Prosperous Society
CM Yogi Adityanath described natural farming as the foundation of a healthy society and prosperous farmers. He urged farmers to shift away from chemical-based agriculture and adopt eco-friendly and cow-based farming methods.
He emphasized that natural farming not only reduces cultivation costs but also improves public health by reducing chemical contamination in food.

Expansion of Natural Farming Across 34 Districts
The Chief Minister announced a special campaign to promote natural farming in 34 districts of Uttar Pradesh. These include:
- 27 districts along the Ganga river belt
- 7 districts of the Bundelkhand region
The initiative focuses on promoting cow-based agriculture and improving marketing systems for agricultural produce.
Government Support for Farmers Through Key Schemes
CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted several central government schemes that support farmers, including:
- Minimum support price at 1.5 times production cost
- Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
- Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana
- PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi
- Soil Health Card Scheme
These programs aim to ensure financial security, risk protection, and improved productivity for farmers.
Health Concerns Linked to Chemical Farming
The Chief Minister warned that excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has increased farming costs and negatively impacted public health. He noted rising cases of diseases such as kidney disorders, liver problems, hypertension, and diabetes, linking them to chemical residues in food.

Cow-Based Economy and Sustainable Agriculture
The state currently maintains more than 7,700 cow shelters housing nearly 1.4 million cattle. Under the Cow Participation Scheme, farmers are provided financial assistance for cattle rearing.
CM Yogi Adityanath also highlighted efforts to convert agricultural waste, cow dung, and stubble into useful energy resources.
Focus on Renewable Energy and Rural Self-Reliance
The government is promoting the use of:
- Biogas
- CNG
- Ethanol production
These initiatives aim to transform agriculture waste into energy resources and support India’s goal of energy self-reliance.
Vision for a Developed India by 2047
CM Yogi Adityanath stated that the vision of a developed India by 2047 depends on healthy citizens and prosperous farmers. He added that the development of Kanpur is closely linked to the prosperity of farmers, traders, artisans, and youth.
He emphasized that natural farming will play a crucial role in achieving this long-term development goal.
The Natural Farming Workshop 2026 in Kanpur reflects the Uttar Pradesh government’s strong commitment to sustainable agriculture. Under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, the state is actively promoting eco-friendly farming practices, farmer welfare schemes, and rural economic transformation.
