On the occasion of India’s 77th Independence Day, Sircilla police in Telangana started an initiative for the safety of women and girl students, named ‘Bus Lo Bharosa’.
Under this initiative, Sircilla police ensures the safety of women and girl students while travelling in the district by installing CCTV cameras in RTC and school buses in Rajanna Sircilla district.
Sircilla police is also encouraging people on social media to speak up about harassment and eve teasing to their She-Team.
IT minister K.T. Rama Rao launched the initiative and appreciated them for taking up such a great measure which will ensure the safety of women travelling in buses.
District superintendent of police and 2017 batch IPS officer Akhil Mahajan said, “So far, CCTV cameras were set up in 77 RTC buses and will extend to the remaining buses of RTC and schools in the district within two weeks.”
The cameras will be linked to the concerned bus depots and to the police control room to keep a vigil, he added.
