At LBSNAA, young IAS officer trainees celebrate India Day by dressing up in various costumes of different states to perform state-specific songs and dances. This is done to show unity in diversity, India’s inherent strength, and also to imbibe the sense of belonging to any region of the country, however different culturally it may be from the officer’s home state.
This is why young IAS officers from the South or North who get posted in the Northeast does not get a culture shock and adapt themselves quickly to their new state. They learn the local dialect and take part in the festivities to give the local people the feeling that the officers are one amongst them.
Following this same principle, two young civil servants posted in Arunachal Pradesh were seen dancing with the people of the Sajolang tribe while taking part in their Chindang festival. The officers are Akriti Sagar, IAS, DC of West Kameng, and SP of the district, Sudhanshu Dhama, IPS.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju shared a video of the two young officers matching steps with the local community members, which was reposted by IAS officer Akriti Sagar. Watch the video to see the two young civil servants enjoying themselves in the Arunachali festival.
Thank you @KirenRijiju sir and @ChownaMeinBJP sir for the encouragement, what a wonderful way to experience the rich culture of #Sajolang tribe. Looking forward to next year already 💃
