The government of Karnataka has appointed deputy commissioner of Udupi, G Jagadeesha as the joint secretary to Karnataka’s chief minister Basavaraj Bommai. Mr. Jagadeesha has been serving as the DC of Udupi since 2019.
The post of joint secretary to chief minister has been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of director of Municipal Administration under Rule 12 of IAS (Pay) Rules, 2016 under secretary to government, department of personnel and administrative reforms.
M Kurma Rao, an IAS officer of 2011 batch, will be replacing GJagadeesha as the deputycommissioner of Udupi. Mr. Rao has been serving as the managing director of the North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC) in Kalaburagi, Karnataka.
Yeshwanth V Gurukar, an IAS officer of 2010 batch of Karnataka cadre, who was waiting for posting has been appointed as the managing director of NEKRTC.
