IRS Rohit Mehra’s 365 Quotes For Success Turns Every Day Into A Lesson

IRS officer Rohit Mehra’s new book, 365 Quotes For Success, explores daily motivation, purpose, discipline, confidence, and practical self-improvement lessons
Indian Masterminds Stories

There are books people read once and then put away. And then there are books designed to be opened again and again, one page at a time, one day at a time.

For most people, motivation comes in bursts. IRS officer Rohit Mehra wants to make it a daily habit. A 2004-batch Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officer under CBDT, Mehra has now turned his attention to a deceptively simple question: What does it really take to succeed?

His answer comes in his new book, 365 Quotes For Success: The Success Code, a collection of 365 carefully selected quotes, one for every day of the year, designed to keep readers focused on their goals and moving through life’s setbacks.

One Day. One Quote. One Push Forward.

The book is aimed at students, professionals, entrepreneurs and anyone trying to improve themselves. Its themes are familiar but fundamental — discipline, perseverance, confidence, positive thinking, focus and overcoming challenges.

Instead of asking readers to consume a huge volume of advice at once, Mehra’s format is simple: read one quote, reflect on it and carry its message into the day.

For Mehra, however, success is not simply about money, promotions or professional milestones. “Success is the ultimate purpose,” he shared in an exclusive conversation with Indian Masterminds.

In his conversation about the book, he connects success with two larger ideas: purpose and happiness.

And that makes The Success Code more than a conventional quote collection. At its heart, it asks readers to think about what they are chasing, why they are chasing it and what they are willing to do consistently to get there.

An IRS Officer With A Different Kind Of Portfolio

Mehra’s career itself has extended well beyond the traditional image of a tax officer.

Alongside his work in the Income Tax Department, he has become known for environmental initiatives, writing and public speaking. His much-discussed vertical garden initiative used discarded plastic bottles to create green spaces, with the Government of India highlighting the project for its large-scale reuse of waste plastic.

He has also written books around environmental awareness and everyday habits, including 31 Green Habits to Save Our Planet.

That focus on small, repeatable actions appears again in his latest book. Because perhaps success, like sustainability, is not created by one dramatic act.

It is built into what you do every day.

The Real “Success Code”

The strength of 365 Quotes For Success lies in its simplicity. There is no complicated formula. No promise of overnight transformation.

Just 365 days and 365 reminders to stay focused, keep learning, handle setbacks and continue working towards a meaningful goal.

And perhaps that is exactly what Mehra wants readers to take away. As he puts it: “What is the purpose?”

For him, the answer isn’t success alone. It is the combination of success, purpose and happiness, and the daily choices that bring those three closer together.

For an IRS officer who has spent years working in public service while pursuing environmental and literary initiatives on the side, The Success Code feels like a natural extension of that philosophy.

One quote. One day. One small push towards becoming better than yesterday.
