Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh is speeding up implementation of feeder-level solarisation works under the PM-KUSUM Component-C scheme, with 228 solar power plants totaling 1,162.80 MW capacity currently under development across the state.
The state government has set a strict deadline to complete all ongoing projects by December 2026 to ensure it does not lose Central Financial Assistance (CFA) under the scheme.
High-Level Review of Solar Projects in Andhra Pradesh
The progress was reviewed at the Secretariat by K. Vijayanand, Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Energy Department. The review covered multiple power distribution companies and project zones, including:
- APSPDCL (Southern region)
- APEPDCL (Eastern region)
- APCPDCL (Central region)
- Kuppam RESCO jurisdiction
The meeting focused on key implementation areas such as:
- Land acquisition
- Civil construction works
- Material procurement
- On-ground execution progress

Strong Progress in Land Acquisition and Civil Works
Officials informed the review committee that significant progress has been made in securing land across several districts.
At the same time:
- Grading and piling works are advancing rapidly
- Foundation-level construction is underway at multiple sites
- Project execution timelines are being closely monitored
The state is aiming to ensure smooth rollout of feeder-level solar infrastructure to support agricultural power supply.
Push for Weekly Monitoring and Faster Approvals
Special Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand stressed the need for stronger coordination and faster decision-making to meet deadlines.
He directed officials to ensure:
- Weekly monitoring of project progress
- Faster administrative approvals
- Better coordination between DISCOMs and developers
- Strict adherence to execution timelines
Strengthening Green Energy and Agricultural Power Supply
The solarisation initiative under PM-KUSUM is expected to significantly strengthen:
- Renewable energy generation in the state
- Reliable daytime power supply for agriculture
- Reduction in dependence on conventional grid electricity
Officials said timely completion of the projects will be crucial for maximizing both financial and operational benefits under the central scheme.

With large-scale infrastructure already underway, the Andhra Pradesh government is prioritizing timely execution to ensure full utilization of central support and to advance its renewable energy goals.
The state is now working on a mission-mode approach to complete all 228 solar projects within the stipulated timeframe.
