Bastar: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has described the ongoing campaign against Maoist violence in Bastar as a major success, emphasizing that “in Bastar, it is now trust, not guns, that is prevailing.”

Highlighting recent developments, CM Sai said that in Jagdalpur, 108 armed Maoist cadres with bounties totaling ₹3.29 crore have surrendered and opted to return to mainstream society. This development signals a positive shift toward peace, governance, and development in the region.

Women Maoists Among Those Surrendering

CM Sai noted that 44 of the surrendered Maoist cadres are women, indicating growing confidence among Bastar residents in pursuing the path of development and peace. He credited the state government’s rehabilitation policy, the coordinated efforts of security forces, and rapid development projects in Bastar for motivating such large-scale surrender and reintegration.

“This demonstrates a strengthened belief among the people of Bastar in the benefits of peace and development,” the CM said, emphasizing that these efforts are contributing to a safer and more prosperous environment for local communities.

CM Sai also recognized the role of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in decisive action against Naxalism, stressing that the Chhattisgarh government is working in close coordination with the center to eliminate insurgency.

Government’s Three-Pronged Strategy: Security, Development, and Trust

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is committed to making Bastar and the entire state fear-free, peaceful, and developed. Efforts are focused on three key fronts:

  1. Security: Strengthening law and order and eliminating armed insurgency.
  2. Development: Expanding infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
  3. Trust: Building confidence among residents to embrace peace and mainstream life.

“Building a fearless and developed Chhattisgarh is the unwavering resolve of our government,” CM Sai said.
