Surat: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a one-on-one meeting with Simon Wong during his visit to Surat for the VGRC event. The discussions focused on strengthening economic ties, increasing investments, and exploring collaboration in emerging sectors like fintech and data infrastructure.
Singapore Investment in Gujarat Sees Steady Growth
During the meeting, High Commissioner Simon Wong highlighted that Singaporean investments in Gujarat have been steadily increasing over the years. He pointed out that Singapore has already made significant contributions to the development of GIFT City, India’s flagship international financial services hub.
He expressed confidence that GIFT City is poised to become a major center for USD-INR bond issuance, further strengthening its global financial position.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted Gujarat’s strong ease of doing business framework, noting that streamlined policies and efficient governance have made project implementation easier.
He stated that these reforms have helped attract both domestic and international investors, reinforcing Gujarat’s position as a preferred investment destination.
