Patna: The Bihar government will give preference to products manufactured within the state in government procurement and support entrepreneurs in securing land for new industrial units, in a move aimed at boosting local manufacturing, investment and employment.
The initiative, led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, seeks to strengthen local industries, support entrepreneurs and increase the consumption of Bihar-made products within the state.
Government Targets 30% Local Consumption
The Chief Minister has set an objective for at least 30% of products manufactured in Bihar to be consumed within the state. The government believes stronger local demand can help industries expand while creating more opportunities for local producers and businesses.
The initiative is being linked with the broader vision of Make in Bihar, Invest in Bihar and Bihar First, with the focus on encouraging businesses to manufacture and invest within the state.

CM to Meet Industrialists in Delhi
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has travelled to New Delhi for a meeting with industrialists. The interaction is expected to open avenues for industrial investment worth several crores of rupees in Bihar.
The government hopes such engagements will attract new investors and give further momentum to the state’s industrial development.
Land Access to Be Made Easier
Land availability remains a major challenge for entrepreneurs planning to establish industrial units. The Bihar government plans to support investors in obtaining suitable land and simplify the land allocation process.
The proposed support will cover not only large industries but also artisans and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Faster access to industrial land could reduce delays for entrepreneurs and help new businesses begin operations more quickly.
Bihar Pushes MSME and Industrial Policies
Bihar is implementing the Bihar MSME Policy 2026 with the aim of developing the state into a major industrial and manufacturing hub in eastern India.
The Bihar Industrial Policy 2026 will provide and expand incentives such as land allocation, capital subsidies, tax exemptions and single-window clearances to encourage industrial investment.
The government expects these measures to strengthen the state’s manufacturing base and create a more supportive environment for businesses.
Focus on Jobs and Local Economy
Bihar’s strategy places local resources, entrepreneurs and workers at the centre of its industrial development plans. Greater use of Bihar-made products could create additional demand for local manufacturing and support smaller businesses.
The government expects increased industrial investment to generate employment opportunities for young people within the state while strengthening Bihar’s position on India’s industrial map.
The success of the initiative will ultimately depend on how effectively the government implements land support, investment incentives and procurement preferences on the ground.
