Patna: Bihar has been declared completely free from Naxal violence, with no Naxal-related incidents reported in the state over the past year. However, heightened surveillance continues in four districts—Jamui, Lakhisarai, Gaya, and Aurangabad—which have been identified as L&T (Lead and Thrust) districts to prevent any resurgence of extremist activity.
These districts were once considered strongholds of Naxal operations, but sustained security operations have now neutralised their presence.
Four Districts Under Continued High Vigilance
Security agencies have maintained strict monitoring in Jamui, Lakhisarai, Gaya, and Aurangabad despite the overall improvement in the law-and-order situation.
These areas are being closely watched through regular patrolling and intelligence-based operations to ensure that Naxal groups do not regroup or regain influence.

No Naxal Activity Since July Last Year
According to STF officials, no small or major Naxal incidents have been reported in any district since July last year.
The situation further improved after the surrender of two key Naxal operatives carrying rewards of ₹3 lakh and ₹2 lakh respectively earlier this year, marking a significant setback for extremist networks in the state.

Focus on Sustained Peace and Security
Security officials emphasized that while Bihar has achieved Naxal-free status, vigilance will continue in sensitive zones to ensure long-term peace and prevent any resurgence of extremist activities.
Bihar’s security forces, led by the Special Task Force (STF), are responsible for counter-Naxal and anti-organized crime operations in the state. The force works in coordination with central agencies to maintain law and order and strengthen internal security.
