Addressing the gathering, Kumar said the relationship between Bihar and Punjab is deeply rooted in mutual affection, respect, and shared contributions to nation-building. He noted that the people of both states are hardworking and dedicated, adding that Punjab’s growth and development have significantly benefited from the contribution of migrants and workers from Bihar.
He also underlined the strong spiritual connection between the two states through Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, the birthplace of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.

In his welcome address, IIT Patna Director T N Singh said programmes like Yuva Sangam provide a valuable platform for young people to experience India’s diverse literary, historical, and cultural traditions firsthand. He said such exchanges help participants better understand each other’s languages, customs, religious beliefs, and social values.
As part of their visit, the Punjab delegation will explore several iconic sites across Bihar, including the Mahabodhi Temple, Mangla Gauri Temple, Vishnupad Temple, Nalanda University, modern Nalanda University, Pawapuri Jal Mandir, and Ghora Katora Lake.
The ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme seeks to promote sustained cultural interaction between states and Union Territories through exchanges in language, cuisine, tourism, sports, traditions, and best practices, thereby reinforcing the spirit of national integration.
