Patna: Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari announced that the state will establish dedicated Centres of Excellence for regional languages such as Bhojpuri, Magahi, Maithili and Angika.
The announcement came during a review meeting at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Patna.
Regional Languages to Get Dedicated Centres
The proposed centres will focus on the study, research and preservation of Bihar’s regional languages. Bhojpuri, Magahi, Maithili and Angika will be among the languages covered under the initiative.

SCERT to Strengthen Teacher Training
Tiwari directed SCERT lecturers to move towards smarter working methods, set clear targets and strengthen teacher evaluation. He also said lecturers will receive specialised training at reputed institutions such as IIMs to improve their leadership, management and training skills.

‘Bihar Vidyavani’ Podcast to Start Soon
SCERT will soon launch the ‘Bihar Vidyavani’ podcast from its studio. It will cover important education-related issues, innovations and useful information for teachers and students, expanding access to educational content through digital platforms.
Portal to Connect Alumni With Schools
The minister also reviewed preparations for the ‘Hamaar Vidyalaya, Hamaar Swabhiman’ portal. The platform will encourage people to support or adopt the schools where they studied, helping strengthen alumni-school connections and community participation in school development.
The initiatives are aimed at improving teacher capacity, preserving regional languages and strengthening Bihar’s education system.
