New Delhi: In a significant administrative move, the Central Government has approved the appointment of three Chief Vigilance Officers (CVOs) across three key government organisations, including the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Prasar Bharati, and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
According to an official order, all five officers have been appointed for an initial tenure of three years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
CVO Appointments in Key Organisations
The appointments aim to strengthen vigilance and oversight mechanisms in important government bodies. The officers appointed are:
- Ashish Kumar Shukla (IOFS:2010) – Appointed as CVO, Sports Authority of India (SAI), Delhi, under the Department of Sports
- Devinder Kumar (IOFS:2003) – Appointed as CVO, Prasar Bharati (PB), Delhi, under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting
- Dalip Singh Bhadauria (IOFS:2002) – Appointed as CVO, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Delhi
These appointments are expected to enhance transparency, accountability, and institutional vigilance across the respective organisations.

Additional Charge in Environment Ministry
In a related development, Ashok Kumar Kaluaram Meena (IAS:1993:OR), currently serving as Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
He will hold this additional responsibility from April 15, 2026, to April 24, 2026, during the leave period of Tanmay Kumar (IAS:1993:RJ).
Administrative Continuity Ensured
The temporary assignment ensures continuity in the functioning of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change during the absence of the incumbent Secretary. Such additional charge arrangements are a routine administrative mechanism to maintain seamless governance at the top level.
