Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that Naxalism, which has been the greatest hurdle to the state’s development, is now in its final stages. He credited the collective efforts of the double-engine government, with strong leadership from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alongside the courage, determination, and resolve of the state’s security forces, for this success.

Naxalism Nearing its End: A Historic Achievement for Chhattisgarh

In a significant statement, Chief Minister Sai declared that Naxalism is on the verge of being eradicated, calling it a historic achievement for Chhattisgarh. “This is a major milestone for the state. The vision set by Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah, to completely eliminate Naxalism from the country by March 31, 2026, is becoming a reality,” he said. The Chief Minister emphasized that the battle against Naxalism has reached its final phase in Chhattisgarh, marking a turning point in the state’s history.

Peace and Stability Taking Root in Bastar and Beyond

CM Sai further assured that the cessation of Naxalite violence has paved the way for peace and stability, especially in the Naxal-affected regions like Bastar. “As Naxal violence comes to an end, Chhattisgarh, especially Bastar, is now on the path of development,” he stated, adding that the foundations for peace and stability have been firmly laid.

Areas that were once cut off from progress are now witnessing rapid advancements in key sectors such as infrastructure, education, health, communications, tourism, and livelihoods. The Chief Minister confidently said, “Bastar is now on the path of transformation, and in the coming years, development will flourish there.”

Security Forces’ Role in Counter-Naxal Operations

Acknowledging the tireless efforts of Chhattisgarh’s security forces, CM Sai emphasized the courage and dedication of the soldiers involved in counter-Naxal operations. The state’s security forces have stepped up their efforts against Naxal insurgents, with a series of successful operations. One of the most notable achievements was in Bijapur, where security forces eliminated 18 Naxal militants, including a top commander, Vella Modiam, who had a reward of ₹10 lakh on his head.

A New, Progressive Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his confidence that with the continued commitment of the state government, guidance from the central government, and the courage of security forces, Chhattisgarh will not only be Naxal-free but will emerge as one of the leading states in India’s development. He said, “This new Chhattisgarh is moving forward on the principles of peace, prosperity, trust, and development.”

Increased Momentum in Anti-Naxal Operations

The state’s anti-Naxal campaign has gained significant momentum, with security forces continuing their operations to dismantle Naxal networks. These operations, under the joint leadership of the central and state governments, have resulted in several successes, further weakening the Naxal forces.

Looking to the Future

With Naxalism on the decline, the focus in Chhattisgarh is now firmly on its future—one that is free of violence and filled with opportunities for all its citizens. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s vision for a peaceful and prosperous state appears to be coming to fruition as infrastructure projects and social reforms begin to take shape across the region.

As the state government continues to prioritize development, security, and social welfare, Chhattisgarh is poised to set an example for other states in India, demonstrating how strong leadership, cooperation with central authorities, and the determination of local security forces can pave the way for lasting peace and progress.
