Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has launched a new Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2.0 Framework aimed at improving monitoring, transparency and outcome-based implementation of development programmes across the state.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai unveiled the Chhattisgarh SDG State and District Indicator Framework 2.0 along with the Metadata Handbook at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan in the presence of members of the state cabinet.
During the event, the government also launched “Bastar Anjor”, an innovative initiative designed to promote inclusive, convergence-based and measurable development in the Bastar region.
SDG 2.0 Framework to Strengthen Evidence-Based Governance
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that accurate data, effective implementation of schemes and result-based monitoring are essential for building a developed Chhattisgarh.
He stated that the SDG 2.0 Framework will provide a strong foundation for:
- Evidence-based policy-making.
- Better coordination between government departments.
- Regular monitoring of development programmes.
- Transparent assessment of progress.
The Chief Minister said the initiative is an important step towards achieving the vision of “Viksit Chhattisgarh @2047”.
Number of Development Indicators Increased for Better Monitoring
Under the new SDG 2.0 Framework, the number of indicators has been expanded to ensure more detailed and scientific monitoring of development activities.
The updated framework includes:
- 343 indicators at the state level (increased from 275).
- 99 indicators at the district level (increased from 82).
The expansion will help the government track development progress more accurately and identify areas requiring improvement.
Metadata Handbook to Improve Data Quality and Reliability
The newly released Metadata Handbook standardises the calculation methods and reporting systems for each indicator.
The handbook will ensure:
- Uniform data collection practices across the state.
- Improved quality and reliability of development data.
- Better comparison and evaluation of government programmes.
Officials said the framework will make development monitoring more measurable, accountable and transparent.
Bastar Anjor Initiative Launched for Tribal Region Development
Along with the SDG 2.0 Framework, the state government launched Bastar Anjor, a special development initiative focused on making Bastar one of the most developed tribal regions in the country.
State Policy Commission Vice Chairman Ganesh Shankar Mishra explained that Bastar Anjor is based on a convergence-based development model.
The initiative aims to achieve measurable improvements in key sectors such as:
- Education.
- Healthcare.
- Livelihood generation.
- Infrastructure development.
Bastar Anjor’s 3+4 Development Model Explained
The Bastar Anjor initiative follows a unique 3+4 model, combining district-level initiatives with major national and state development frameworks.
The three key district-level initiatives include:
- Niyad Nellanar 2.0
- Bastar Munne
- Swasth Bastar
These initiatives will be aligned with four major development frameworks:
- Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030.
- Viksit Chhattisgarh @2047.
- Aspirational District Programme.
- Aspirational Blocks Programme.
The objective is to achieve better outcomes through improved coordination and utilisation of existing resources without requiring additional financial resources.
Focus on Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Bastar
The government described Bastar Anjor as a visionary initiative based on the principle of “Antyodaya to Sarvodaya”, focusing on inclusive growth and development reaching the last mile.
The initiative aims to transform Bastar into a national model for:
- Inclusive development.
- Sustainable growth.
- Result-oriented governance.
Senior Officials Attend Launch Event
The launch programme was attended by senior government officials, including Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, members of the state cabinet, Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh and other senior administrative officers.
With the launch of SDG 2.0 and Bastar Anjor, Chhattisgarh has taken another step towards data-driven governance, stronger monitoring systems and achieving its long-term development vision of Viksit Chhattisgarh @2047.
