Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12-year leadership, describing it as a transformative period dedicated to national progress, good governance, and welfare of the poor. Speaking at a media interaction programme at the BJP state headquarters, the Chief Minister said the country has repeatedly endorsed “performance over slogans” by giving the BJP a third consecutive mandate.
Digital Governance and Transparency Under Modi Government
CM Dhami highlighted that the Modi government has brought major reforms through digital governance and transparency-driven systems. He said the implementation of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system has helped prevent misuse of public funds.
According to him, ₹4.31 lakh crore has been saved from reaching wrong beneficiaries through DBT, ensuring that financial assistance is directly delivered to eligible citizens.
He also noted that India has emerged as the world’s leading country in digital payments, reflecting rapid adoption of digital infrastructure across governance and daily life.
Welfare Schemes Focused on Poor, Farmers and Women
The Chief Minister said that the central government has placed poor, farmers, and women at the core of its policies. He listed several flagship schemes that have significantly impacted millions of lives:
- Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi for farmers
- Free ration support to around 81 crore people
- Pucca houses for nearly 4 crore poor families
- LPG connections for about 11 crore women under Ujjwala Yojana
- Jan Dhan Yojana for financial inclusion
- Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme
- Jal Jeevan Mission for clean drinking water
- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for sanitation improvement
He said these initiatives have collectively transformed the living standards of people across the country.
Cultural Revival and Infrastructure Growth Highlighted

- Construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya
- Redevelopment of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor
- Development of sacred sites including Kedarnath, Badrinath, Mahakal, and Somnath
On infrastructure development, he said India has seen remarkable growth in road construction. While only 11 km of roads were built daily in 2014, the pace has now increased to over 34 km per day.
Major Development Push for Uttarakhand
Focusing on Uttarakhand, CM Dhami said that the state has received development projects worth more than ₹3 lakh crore under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi.
Key ongoing projects include:
- Kedarnath and Badrinath redevelopment works
- Char Dham All Weather Road project
- Rishikesh–Karnaprayag railway line
- Delhi–Dehradun economic corridor
- Ropeway projects for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib
He said these initiatives are strengthening connectivity and boosting tourism and economic growth in the hill state.
Vikas of Villages and Women Empowerment
The Chief Minister also highlighted rural development under the Vibrant Villages Programme, which is improving infrastructure and creating livelihood opportunities in border areas.
He said more than 2.5 lakh “Lakhpati Didis” have been created in Uttarakhand, and in some villages like Mana, all women have achieved this status, reflecting strong women empowerment outcomes.
Uttarakhand has also performed well in development indicators, securing top positions in the SDG Index and Export Preparedness Index, which CM Dhami called proof of the success of the “double engine government”.
Focus on Completing Long-Pending Projects
CM Dhami added that projects such as Jamanari, Lakhwar-Vyasi, and Kishau, which remained delayed for years under previous governments, have now gained momentum.
He said Uttarakhand is being firmly integrated into the national development mainstream, ensuring balanced growth and long-term progress.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami concluded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has ushered in a new era of governance focused on transparency, welfare, infrastructure development, and cultural revival, with Uttarakhand emerging as a key beneficiary of this transformation.
