New Delhi: The Department of Defence (DoD) has stepped up cleanliness and workplace improvement efforts, conducting 2,229 cleanliness drives across its attached and subordinate offices between November 2025 and August 2026.
The drives, carried out as a continuation of Special Campaign 5.0, helped the department free 45,448 square feet of office space and generate ₹97.07 lakh through the disposal of scrap and other unserviceable materials.
2,229 Drives Conducted Across Defence Offices
The cleanliness and decluttering activities covered offices and organisations under the Department of Defence.
Key outcomes include:
- 2,229 cleanliness drives conducted
- 45,448 sq ft of space freed
- ₹97.07 lakh generated through scrap and unserviceable-material disposal
- Activities carried out between November 2025 and August 2026
BRO, DGDE, CGDA Among Participating Organisations
Several organisations under the Department of Defence participated in the cleanliness and workplace-improvement activities.
These included:
- Directorate General Defence Estates (DGDE)
- Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS)
- Border Roads Organisation (BRO)
- Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA)
- Canteen Stores Department (CSD)
The department said the sustained efforts are aimed at maintaining cleaner and more organised workplaces and making Swachhta a regular part of official functioning.
Focus on Cleaner and More Efficient Workplaces
The Department of Defence said the initiatives are intended to support a clean, organised and productive working environment across its offices.
The latest drives build on the department’s participation in Special Campaign 5.0, with continued emphasis on cleanliness, decluttering and disposal of unserviceable materials.
