EIL and Honeywell Sign Strategic Agreement at India Energy Week 2026 for Sustainable Refinery Technologies

Partnership combines EIL’s indigenous EngSulfTG™ sulphur recovery technology with Honeywell’s global expertise to support cleaner, efficient, and self-reliant refining solutions in India

New Delhi: In a major step towards strengthening India’s energy self-reliance and environmental sustainability, Engineers India Limited (EIL) has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Honeywell during India Energy Week 2026, held in Goa.

The agreement was signed in the august presence of Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India. This partnership brings together EIL’s strong engineering and project execution capabilities with Honeywell’s global technology expertise to deliver advanced and sustainable solutions for the refining sector.

Focus on Cleaner and More Efficient Refineries

A key highlight of this collaboration is EIL’s indigenously developed Tail Gas Treating Technology (EngSulfTG™). This advanced technology improves sulphur recovery in refineries up to 99.9% (by weight), helping reduce harmful emissions and ensuring compliance with strict environmental regulations.

Supporting ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ Vision

The EIL–Honeywell agreement strongly aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) initiative. The collaboration focuses on:

  • Promoting indigenous technologies
  • Reducing import dependency in the hydrocarbon sector
  • Encouraging sustainable and low-carbon solutions
  • Strengthening India’s position as a global refining technology hub
