Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s digital governance platform “Seva Setu” has emerged as a major step toward transparent and citizen-friendly administration. The portal now offers over 441 government services online, making essential documents like income, caste, domicile certificates, ration cards, and land records easily accessible within defined timelines.
The initiative is being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, with a focus on simplifying public service delivery through digital transformation.
One-Stop Digital Platform for Citizens
Earlier, citizens had to visit multiple government offices for basic services, often facing delays and administrative hurdles. The “Seva Setu” portal has now replaced that system with a single-window digital solution.
Residents can now:
- Apply for services online from home
- Visit nearby service centers if needed
- Receive documents within fixed timelines
This has significantly reduced paperwork, time consumption, and dependence on intermediaries.
Major Upgrade from Old e-District System
The new platform is a major improvement over the earlier e-District system, which offered only 86 services.
Key upgrades include:
- 441+ services now available online
- Integration of 30+ government departments
- 54 newly added services
- 329 redirected services from various departments
This integration ensures citizens do not need to access multiple portals for different services.
Strong Performance Under Public Service Guarantee Act
Under the Chhattisgarh Public Service Guarantee Act, the state has achieved high efficiency in service delivery.
Performance highlights:
- 75.7 lakh+ total applications received
- 68.4 lakh+ applications successfully resolved
- Over 95% resolution rate within deadline
Officials said this reflects improved accountability and faster governance.
High Demand for Basic Certificates Online
Digital services such as income, caste, and domicile certificates remain the most in demand.
According to official data:
- Over 32 lakh applications for income certificates
- High usage of caste and domicile certificates
- Increased adoption of online marriage registration and land records
This shift has reduced dependency on physical visits to government offices.
WhatsApp Integration and Digital Growth
To improve accessibility, the “Seva Setu” portal has been integrated with WhatsApp, making services even more user-friendly.
The platform has also recorded:
- Over 3.3 crore digital transactions
This highlights growing digital adoption and public trust in online governance systems.
Transparent and Citizen-Centric Governance Model
The “Seva Setu” platform uses a real-time electronic workflow system that enables monitoring of every application.
Officials say this has:
- Reduced delays in service delivery
- Improved transparency
- Minimized chances of corruption
