New Delhi: Daman-Delhi direct flight services have officially started under the Government of India’s UDAN Scheme, giving Daman its first direct air connection with the national capital. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu flagged off the inaugural flight from NAMO Airport, Daman, on July 16, 2026. Regular commercial flights will begin from July 20, 2026, making travel faster and easier.
The new flight is expected to boost tourism, business, investment, and regional development. It is an important step in improving air connectivity for the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
Details of Delhi-Daman Direct Flight
The Government of India has launched the first-ever direct Delhi-Daman flight under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) Scheme. The inaugural flight was flagged off by Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu from NAMO Airport, Daman on July 16, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Indian Coast Guard, this new air route will directly connect Delhi with Daman, reducing travel time and improving regional connectivity.

Regular scheduled flights on the Delhi-Daman-Delhi route will begin from July 20, 2026. The new service will help:

The new commercial airport operates from the Indian Coast Guard Air Station, Daman. According to official information, the airport:
- Has a passenger terminal of around 3,700 square metres
- Is built with an investment of around ₹124 crore
- Can handle up to 14 ATR flights daily
- Has an annual passenger handling capacity of nearly 3.67 lakh passengers
The airport has been developed through cooperation between the Indian Coast Guard, the UT Administration, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The government also plans to expand airport infrastructure in the future so larger aircraft can operate from Daman and connect more Indian cities.
