Chandigarh: In a rare administrative development, the Haryana Government has revised its transfer orders within just 24 hours, issuing fresh postings for three senior officers. The latest orders affect two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and one Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, resulting in another round of changes across the Environment, Higher Education, Technical Education and State Transport departments.

The revised orders come a day after the government carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving several IAS, IFS and HCS officers. The fresh postings indicate a quick review of the earlier decisions, with responsibilities being reassigned among key departments.

Prabhjot Singh Shifted Again, Moves to Environment Department

Among the officers affected, 2010-batch IAS officer Prabhjot Singh has witnessed a second transfer within a span of 24 hours.

Prior to the June 25 reshuffle, Prabhjot Singh was serving as Director-General, Technical Education.

In the transfer orders issued on June 25, he was appointed Director-General, State Transport, Haryana.

However, in the revised orders issued on Friday, the government has now posted him as Director-General, Environment, and Secretary, Environment, Forests and Wildlife Department, assigning him the responsibility of heading the state’s environment and forest administration.

S. Narayanan Returns to Higher Education

The revised orders also bring another significant change involving 1997-batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer S. Narayanan.

Before the reshuffle, Narayanan was serving as Director-General and Secretary, Higher Education Department.

In the June 25 transfer order, he was shifted to the Environment, Forests and Wildlife Department as Director-General and Secretary.

However, within a day, the government has restored him to the Higher Education Department.

Under the latest orders, S. Narayanan has been posted as:

  • Director-General, Higher Education Department
  • Secretary, Higher Education Department

Additional charge of Director-General, Technical Education
The move effectively returns him to his earlier portfolio while also entrusting him with the additional responsibility of overseeing Technical Education.

Virender Kumar Dahiya Back to State Transport

Another officer whose posting has been revised is 2013-batch IAS officer Virender Kumar Dahiya.

Before the June 25 reshuffle, Dahiya was serving as:

  • Director, Environment
  • Special Secretary, Environment, Forests and Wildlife Department
  • Director, State Transport

During the June 25 reshuffle, he was transferred as:

  • Director, Higher Education
  • Special Secretary, Higher Education Department
  • Director, Technical Education

However, the latest order issued on Friday has reassigned him once again. He has now been posted back as Director, State Transport, restoring him to one of his earlier responsibilities.

Rapid Revision of Administrative Orders

The fresh orders effectively modify the transfer decisions announced just a day earlier, highlighting the government’s swift review of administrative requirements.

With the latest changes:

  • Prabhjot Singh moves from State Transport to head the Environment Department.
  • S. Narayanan returns to Higher Education and additionally takes charge of Technical Education.
  • Virender Kumar Dahiya is shifted back to the State Transport Department.

The rapid revision underscores the government’s efforts to align administrative responsibilities with evolving governance priorities and departmental requirements.

Second Round of Changes Within a Day

The development comes immediately after the Haryana Government carried out a major administrative reshuffle affecting senior IAS, IFS and HCS officers across multiple departments. The latest orders demonstrate that the government continues to fine-tune its bureaucratic assignments to ensure effective administration and leadership in key sectors.

The three revised postings have now reshaped the leadership structure in the Environment, Higher Education, Technical Education and State Transport departments, with the officers expected to assume their new responsibilities immediately.
