Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to intensify the search for Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Havildar Pankaj, who went missing after the Tamak Nala in Chamoli’s Niti Valley swelled following heavy rainfall.
The Chief Minister took cognisance of the case after Pankaj’s family appealed for help through social media.
Multiple Agencies Join Search
Teams from the Army, BRO, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Uttarakhand Police, district administration, National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force are conducting the search operation.
CM Dhami has asked officials to monitor the operation continuously and use all available resources to locate the missing havildar.

Government in Touch With Family
Havildar Pankaj, a resident of Pithoragarh, remains the focus of the ongoing search. The Pithoragarh District Magistrate has contacted his family and assured them of all possible administrative assistance.
The Chief Minister’s Office is also maintaining regular contact with the family and receiving updates on the operation.
CM Dhami spoke to Pankaj’s family over the phone, enquired about their well-being and assured them that the government stands with them during the difficult situation.
He said every possible effort is being made to locate Havildar Pankaj and that the family will receive all necessary assistance.
