Hyderabad: In a landmark development for urban policing, senior IPS officer Badugula Sumathi assumed charge as the first woman Commissioner of Police of the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate on Friday. A 2001-batch IPS officer of the Telangana cadre, she outlined an ambitious, future-ready roadmap focused on technology-driven law enforcement, public safety, and efficient service delivery.
Welcomed by senior officials and personnel at the commissionerate, Sumathi described her appointment as both an honour and a responsibility, underlining her commitment to transparent, accountable, and citizen-friendly policing.
