Thiruvananthapuram: In a significant administrative exercise aimed at strengthening policing and operational efficiency across the state, the Kerala Government has ordered the transfer and posting of several senior IPS officers with immediate effect. The reshuffle impacts key positions in Internal Security, North Zone, Armed Police Battalions, district ranges, Vigilance, Economic Offences Wing, Telecom, Crime Branch and city police units.

The General Administration Department issued the transfer orders, bringing changes at the level of Inspectors General of Police (IGPs), Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs), Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs).

Changes at Inspector General Level

One of the most prominent changes in the reshuffle is the transfer of Putta Vimaladitya, who was serving as Inspector General of Police, Internal Security. He has now been posted as Inspector General of Police, North Zone.

Meanwhile, S. Sateesh Bino, who was serving as Inspector General of Police, Armed Police Battalions, has been transferred and appointed as the new Inspector General of Police, Internal Security.

The movement of these officers is expected to strengthen both regional policing operations and internal security management in the state.

DIG-Level Postings Revised

At the Deputy Inspector General level, Karthick K has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kannur Range.

In a related development, Narayanan T, who was earlier transferred to Kannur Range, has now been retained as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Thrissur Range, indicating a revision in the earlier posting decision.

Superintendent of Police Transfers

Several SP-level officers have also been reassigned to important positions across the state.

Ajit Kumar, who was awaiting posting after being transferred from the post of District Police Chief, Palakkad, has now been appointed as Superintendent of Police, Telecom.

Mohanachandran Nair M.P., who was earlier transferred as Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Kozhikode and Wayanad, has now been posted as Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Malappuram.

Changes in City Police Leadership

The reshuffle also affects police leadership in Kerala’s major cities.

Arun K. Pavithran has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police-2, Law & Order and Traffic, Kochi City.

On the other hand, Shahansha K.S., who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police-2, Law & Order and Traffic, Kochi City, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law & Order and Traffic, Thiruvananthapuram City against an existing vacancy.

These appointments are expected to play a key role in traffic management, law and order maintenance, and urban policing in the state’s two largest cities.

Vigilance and Economic Offences Wings Get New Officers

The government has also made fresh appointments in specialized investigation wings.

Juvvanapudi Mahesh has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB), Southern Range, Thiruvananthapuram.

Meanwhile, Shahul Hameed A. has been appointed as Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Thiruvananthapuram Range.

The appointments come at a time when financial crime investigations, anti-corruption initiatives and economic offence monitoring continue to be priority areas for law enforcement agencies.

Focus on Administrative Efficiency

The latest reshuffle reflects the Kerala Government’s efforts to place experienced officers in strategically important positions across operational, intelligence, vigilance and law-and-order wings. Such transfers are periodically undertaken to enhance administrative effectiveness, strengthen specialized policing units and improve coordination across different branches of the state police.

The newly posted officers are expected to assume charge immediately and oversee their respective responsibilities in line with the state’s policing and public safety priorities.
