Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in a public grievance redressal camp held at Motipur School as part of the ongoing Su-Shasan Tihar initiative.
The program witnessed the presence of Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, along with several public representatives and senior officials. The event focused on direct public interaction, grievance resolution, and showcasing key welfare initiatives of the state government.
₹642 Crore DBT Transfer to 68+ Lakh Women Under Mahtari Vandan Yojana
A major highlight of the event was the release of the 27th installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, under which more than 68.52 lakh women beneficiaries received over ₹642 crore directly into their bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The Chief Minister stated that the scheme represents the government’s strong commitment to:
- Women empowerment
- Financial independence
- Social dignity and self-reliance
He added that strengthening women financially strengthens entire families and communities.
Major Infrastructure Announcements for Rajnandgaon Region
During the program, CM Vishnu Deo Sai also announced several key infrastructure and development projects for Rajnandgaon and surrounding areas, including:
- ₹200 crore for Rajnandgaon–Khairagarh bypass road
- ₹75 crore for widening of Tedesara–Ghumka–Bakal road (35 km)
- ₹30 crore for Dhanora–Indamara–Bakal road development
- ₹25 lakh each for development works in urban wards 1, 2, 3, and 8
- New circuit house with 15 rooms near Maa Bamleshwari Temple, Dongargarh
- ₹1 crore for new Janpad Panchayat building in Rajnandgaon
- New sports ground for hockey training
- Restoration of Ready-to-Eat production units for women SHGs
These initiatives aim to strengthen connectivity, tourism, employment, and local economic growth.
Su-Shasan Tihar: A Governance Model Focused on Public Service
CM Sai emphasized that Su-Shasan Tihar is a people-centric governance initiative designed to ensure that government reaches directly to citizens.
He said:
- Public grievances are being resolved on priority
- Officials delaying or neglecting work will face strict action
- Development benefits must reach the last person in the queue
The initiative is currently being conducted across the state from May 1 to June 10.
Digital Governance and Public Service Delivery Expansion
The Chief Minister also highlighted digital governance reforms, stating that:
- Over 400 government services are now available online through the e-District platform
- A toll-free Chief Minister Helpline will soon be launched
- Citizen complaints will be resolved within a fixed timeframe
These steps aim to improve transparency, efficiency, and accessibility of government services.
Women Empowerment and Rural Self-Reliance
CM Sai underlined that the Mahtari Vandan Yojana is playing a key role in:
- Encouraging women-led economic participation
- Supporting self-employment activities
- Strengthening rural household incomes
He also interacted with beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana and PM Janman schemes, reviewing ground-level implementation.
Dr. Raman Singh Praises Government’s Public Outreach
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh appreciated the Chief Minister’s commitment, stating that visiting remote areas in extreme conditions reflects strong dedication to public service and good governance.
He also highlighted ongoing industrial development in the region, including:
- ₹345 crore Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Patenga
- ₹25 crore Space Manufacturing Cluster at Bijetla
These projects are expected to generate employment and boost regional economic growth.
