Sarguja: In a surprise visit during the ongoing “Sushasan Tihar 2026”, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reached a remote village in Sarguja district and directly interacted with villagers while sitting on a traditional charpoy (cot).
The Chief Minister’s sudden helicopter landing in Gram Panchayat Silma, under Batauli block, created a buzz in the village as locals gathered for a direct grievance redressal session.
CM Holds Jan Chowpal Sitting on Charpoy
CM Vishnu Deo Sai conducted a public interaction in a traditional rural setting:
- Sat on a charpoy among villagers
- Listened to complaints related to electricity, welfare schemes, and financial issues
- Directed officials to resolve grievances within fixed timelines
- Emphasized doorstep governance and direct public interaction
Villagers said the informal setup made it easier to express their concerns openly.
Electricity Bill Waiver Brings Relief to Villager
During the interaction, Rajesh Shukla from Suarpada village shared his financial difficulties, stating he was unable to pay electricity bills due to economic hardship.
Taking immediate cognizance, the Chief Minister directed officials to initiate:
- Electricity bill waiver process
- Financial assistance support for the family
The decision moved the beneficiary emotionally, who expressed gratitude for the swift response.
‘Sushasan Tihar 2026’ Focus on Direct Governance
CM Sai described the initiative as more than a government programme, calling it a governance reform campaign.
He said:
- Administration will now reach villages directly
- Problems will be addressed on the spot
- People will no longer need repeated visits to government offices
The 40-day campaign aims to strengthen last-mile delivery of government services.

The Chief Minister directed officials present at the chowpal to:
- Ensure time-bound disposal of all applications
- Monitor implementation of government schemes at ground level
- Maintain transparency and accountability in grievance redressal
He stressed that real-time feedback from villages is essential for effective governance.
