Seoni-Malwa: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav marked a significant development milestone in Seoni-Malwa (Narmadapuram district) by laying the foundation stone for major infrastructure projects worth over ₹1,000 crore.
The highlight of the visit was the upgradation and reconstruction of the 72.18 km Narmadapuram–Timarni State Highway, being developed at a cost of ₹972.16 crore. This strategic road project is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity and make travel between Indore, Ujjain, and surrounding regions faster and more convenient, bringing Seoni-Malwa into a new phase of development.
96 Development Works Worth ₹106 Crore Inaugurated and Launched
Along with the highway project, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 96 development works worth ₹106.34 crore.
These include:
- 45 completed projects worth ₹48.65 crore
- 51 new projects worth ₹57.69 crore
The projects cover key infrastructure and civic development works aimed at improving local facilities such as roads, electricity, water supply, and public services.

Grand Public Welcome and Roadshow in Seoni-Malwa
The Chief Minister received a grand public welcome during a roadshow, where locals greeted him with flower showers across multiple locations.
The roadshow route saw enthusiastic participation from citizens, cultural celebrations, and patriotic songs, reflecting strong public engagement. A traditional Kanya Pujan ceremony was also held before the main event.
Focus on Women Empowerment and Ladli Behna Scheme
Addressing the gathering, CM Mohan Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to women empowerment.
Key highlights included:
- Support for the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which proposes 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies
- Expansion of Ladli Behna Yojana, benefiting over 1.25 crore women
- Over ₹55,000 crore already disbursed under the scheme
- Proposal to increase monthly assistance up to ₹1,500 per beneficiary
- 50% reservation for women in local body elections in Madhya Pradesh

Major Announcements for Farmers and Rural Development
The Chief Minister announced several initiatives aimed at strengthening the rural economy:
- Increased support for cow shelters (gaushalas)
- Subsidy of up to 90% on solar pumps
- Ongoing wheat procurement and ₹600/quintal bonus on urad pulses
- Promotion of dairy production and milk procurement systems
- Target to increase milk production from 9% to 20%
These measures aim to enhance farmers’ income and promote sustainable agriculture in the state.
New Welfare Schemes for Children and Healthcare Support
Several welfare initiatives were highlighted during the visit:
- Mata Yashoda Yojana: Free milk distribution in government schools
- Rahveer Yojana: ₹25,000 reward for helping accident victims reach hospitals
- Expansion of air ambulance services and availability of hearse vehicles across districts
These initiatives aim to improve nutrition, emergency response, and healthcare accessibility.
New Irrigation Project to Benefit 10,000 Farmers
A major irrigation project on the Narmada River was announced, which will benefit:
- Around 40 villages
- More than 10,000 farmers
This project is expected to significantly improve irrigation coverage and agricultural productivity in the region.

Strengthening Regional Development and Connectivity
CM Yadav emphasized that the new highway and infrastructure projects will:
- Improve access to Indore and Ujjain
- Boost trade, transport, and economic activity
- Integrate Seoni-Malwa into a faster-growing development corridor
He described the highway project as a “new sunrise of development” for the region.
