Khajuraho: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that yoga and Khajuraho are two inseparable pillars of Indian culture. He made the remarks while virtually addressing the Yoga Mahotsav 2026 held at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Khajuraho on the occasion of the 25-day countdown to International Yoga Day 2026.
The event was organised under the Central Ayush Ministry as part of nationwide preparations for International Yoga Day 2026.
Yoga Mahotsav 2026 Held at UNESCO World Heritage Site Khajuraho
The grand Yoga Mahotsav was organised at Khajuraho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting participation from various dignitaries and showcasing India’s ancient wellness traditions.
CM Yadav addressed the event through a video message and emphasized that yoga, combined with cultural values, is helping build a healthier, more aware, and spiritually enriched society.
Yoga as a Global Philosophy of Health and Well-being
In his address, the Chief Minister said yoga is no longer just a form of physical exercise but has evolved into a way of life based on the principle of “One Earth, One Health.”
He said the Madhya Pradesh government is actively working to promote yoga and AYUSH systems to reach every household through awareness and wellness initiatives.
‘Har Ghar Yoga, Har Vyakti Nirog’ Campaign
CM Yadav highlighted the ongoing “Har Ghar Yoga – Har Vyakti Nirog” campaign, which aims to integrate yoga into daily life across the state.
Key initiatives include:
- AYUSH wellness centres
- Yoga wellness centres
- Public awareness programmes
- Integration of yoga into daily lifestyle practices
These efforts aim to make yoga a part of everyday routine for citizens across all age groups.
Youth Embracing Yoga in Large Numbers
The Chief Minister expressed happiness that India’s youth are increasingly embracing yoga as part of their lifestyle.
He noted that the International Yoga Day countdown events are connecting millions of people across the country, further strengthening awareness and participation.
Centre–State Coordination in Promoting Yoga
CM Yadav said the Yoga Mahotsav 2026 reflects the strong commitment of both the central and state governments to promote holistic health and well-being through yoga.
He appreciated the efforts of the Union Ayush Ministry and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, central and state officials, and the Chhatarpur district administration for successfully organising the event.
