Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government is working to make Madhya Pradesh a model state in crowd management, public facilities, and citizen services at religious and pilgrimage sites.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while interacting with media representatives in Jammu before departing for Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. He stated that the government is studying management systems at major religious destinations across the country to improve facilities for devotees visiting Madhya Pradesh’s prominent spiritual sites.
MP Government Studying Vaishno Devi Management System
CM Mohan Yadav said a delegation from the Madhya Pradesh government is currently visiting Mata Vaishno Devi shrine to study crowd management, security systems, and pilgrim services.
According to the Chief Minister, the state plans to adopt best practices from leading pilgrimage centres to strengthen arrangements at major religious sites in Madhya Pradesh, including:
- Shri Mahakal Temple, Ujjain
- Shri Mahakaleshwar Devasthan
- Shri Omkareshwar Devasthan
- Bhojshala, recently recognized by the High Court as Maa Vagdevi Temple
He noted that Vaishno Devi shrine offers highly organized services and smooth arrangements for lakhs of pilgrims visiting throughout the year.
Focus on Modern Facilities and Better Pilgrim Services
The Chief Minister said the state government is committed to expanding public facilities, crowd management systems, and modern infrastructure at religious destinations.
He added that officials are conducting detailed studies of facilities available at major temples and pilgrimage centres across India. Based on these observations, Madhya Pradesh will implement advanced development projects and stronger management systems for devotees.
The government aims to improve:
- Pilgrim safety and crowd control
- Transport and accommodation facilities
- Public amenities and digital services
- Security arrangements at religious sites
Major Religious Infrastructure Projects Underway in Madhya Pradesh
CM Mohan Yadav highlighted several large-scale religious infrastructure projects currently under development in the state.
Key Projects Include:
- Expansion of Shri Mahakal Lok in Ujjain
- Development of Ekatma Dham at Omkareshwar with an investment of nearly ₹3,000 crore
- Preparations for Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain with projects worth around ₹30,000 crore
- Rapid development work at Shri Raja Ram Lok in Orchha
The government believes these projects will strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s position as a major spiritual tourism destination in India.
Vaishno Devi Shrine Seen as a Model for Pilgrim Management
The Chief Minister praised the management system at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, noting that the shrine board maintains online records of every devotee visiting the temple.
He said the shrine has successfully developed organized systems for accommodation, healthcare, education, and social welfare services for pilgrims.
CM Yadav also recalled the contribution of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Jagmohan, who established the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and played a major role in developing modern facilities for devotees.
Government to Strengthen Religious Tourism in MP
The Madhya Pradesh government said it will continue to focus on improving infrastructure and services at religious destinations to provide a smooth and convenient experience for pilgrims.
Officials believe better crowd management, modern facilities, and organized pilgrim services will help boost religious tourism and strengthen the state’s cultural and spiritual identity.
