Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government is set to restart its public bus transport service after 21 years with the launch of the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva on September 25.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the service is being introduced as part of the state’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which is being observed from September 17 to October 17.
The launch coincides with the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Bus Services to Be Expanded in Phases
Yadav said the new transport model would be expanded in phases across cities and districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The planned services will include:
- City bus services
- Intercity bus services within Madhya Pradesh
- Interstate luxury bus services
- Electric buses
The government also plans to develop supporting facilities such as bus stops, bus stands and electronic systems for monitoring and controlling bus operations.
Connectivity to Major Cities and Pilgrimage Centres
According to the Chief Minister, the proposed services will connect major cities within Madhya Pradesh as well as destinations in other states.
He said services would also facilitate travel to major pilgrimage centres and metropolitan cities.
Yadav said the government was working to expand public transport alongside infrastructure development in areas such as roads, electricity, water supply and rural infrastructure.
Nitin Gadkari to Attend Bhopal Launch
The launch programme will be held at BHEL Dussehra Maidan in Bhopal.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari is scheduled to attend the inauguration, according to the Chief Minister.
Yadav said the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva would be developed as a modern public transport model with phased expansion across the state.
