New Delhi: The Ministry of Power has appointed Paresh Rasiklal Ranpara as the new Director (Personnel) of NHPC Limited for a period of five years. The appointment will be effective from the date he assumes charge of the post.
According to the official order issued by the Ministry of Power, Ranpara will continue in the position until his superannuation on August 31, 2031, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Paresh Ranpara Brings Over 28 Years of HR Experience
Paresh Rasiklal Ranpara is an experienced human resource professional with more than 28 years of experience in state-owned power sector organisations in Gujarat.
He has expertise in several key areas, including:
- Human resource management
- Organisational restructuring
- Workforce planning
- Leadership development
- Performance management systems
- Employee engagement and organisational transformation
Before entering the power sector, Ranpara also gained experience working in the private sector.

Educational Background and Professional Qualifications
Ranpara holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Sardar Patel University.
He is also a certified assessor from XLRI Xavier School of Management, adding to his expertise in leadership evaluation and organisational development.
Previous Role at Grid-India and GUVNL
Before his appointment at NHPC, Shri Ranpara served at Grid-India. Earlier, he worked as the HR Head at Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).
During his tenure at GUVNL, he played an important role in:
- Developing HR policies for group companies with a workforce of over 60,000 employees.
- Supporting the restructuring and unbundling process of the erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB).
- Managing communication strategies to ensure a smooth organisational transition.
His contributions helped strengthen human resource systems and improve organisational efficiency within the power sector.
Contribution to HR Transformation and Renewable Energy Sector
Ranpara has been involved in designing and implementing several strategic HR initiatives, including:
- Performance management frameworks
- Succession planning systems
- Leadership development programmes
- Innovation and creativity-focused workplace initiatives
- Employee reskilling programmes
He has also worked on HR strategies aligned with the increasing adoption of renewable energy technologies in the power sector.
NHPC Informs Stock Exchanges About Appointment
NHPC Limited has informed stock exchanges about Shri Ranpara’s appointment under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
The company stated that a detailed profile of the newly appointed Director (Personnel) and other relevant information will be shared separately.
The appointment is expected to strengthen NHPC’s leadership framework and support the company’s ongoing growth in the hydropower and renewable energy sectors.
