New Delhi: NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, organised a National Workshop at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi, where it launched a major report titled “Unlocking Growth in Tourism and Hospitality Sector.”
The report presents a comprehensive roadmap aimed at simplifying regulations, improving ease of doing business, attracting investments, and promoting sustainable growth in India’s tourism and hospitality sector.
The event brought together representatives from State Governments, industry associations, hospitality stakeholders, online travel platforms, academic institutions, knowledge partners, and various Central Ministries.

The workshop was graced by several senior leaders, including:
- Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat
- NITI Aayog Member Mr. Rajiv Gauba

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat emphasized tourism’s transformative role in India’s growth and stressed the need for a strong ecosystem to attract investment, expand infrastructure, and improve business conditions in the sector.
Mr. Rajiv Gauba highlighted that tourism plays a vital role in employment generation, entrepreneurship, and regional development, noting that investment in tourism is highly sensitive to time, cost, and policy predictability.

The day-long discussions focused on strengthening tourism-led economic growth and enhancing India’s global competitiveness as a tourism destination.
