Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Krishna, an IPS officer of 1991 batch, on Friday presided over the Pipping Ceremony at the Police Headquarters in Gomti Nagar Extension, formally conferring Indian Police Service (IPS) rank insignia on officers recently promoted from the Provincial Police Service (PPS).
The ceremony marked an important milestone in the careers of 28 officers who were elevated to the IPS. DGP Rajeev Krishna congratulated all the promoted officers and extended his best wishes for their future assignments, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in policing.

IPS Rank Insignia Conferred During Ceremony
During the event, the DGP formally pinned the IPS rank insignia on 25 officers who were present at the ceremony. The officers who received their insignia included:

DGP Calls for Integrity and Dedicated Service
Addressing the newly promoted IPS officers, DGP Rajeev Krishna described policing as one of the most demanding public service professions and urged the officers to discharge their responsibilities with honesty, dedication and accountability.
He emphasised that the officers should remain committed to public service, uphold the rich traditions of the Uttar Pradesh Police, and perform their duties with discipline, professionalism and hard work wherever they are posted.
The DGP also expressed confidence that the newly inducted IPS officers would strengthen the leadership of the Uttar Pradesh Police and contribute significantly to maintaining law and order across the state.
