Dehradun: In a significant event held at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office located at the Main Sevak Sadan in Dehradun, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to 187 newly selected candidates. The ceremony included 182 candidates selected through the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) Combined State Civil/PCS Main Examination 2024 and 5 candidates appointed as personal assistants in the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department.
The event was attended by several cabinet ministers, senior officials, and dignitaries from the state administration.
Selection Through Transparent Recruitment Process
CM Dhami highlighted that approximately 1.5 lakh candidates had applied for the UKPSC PCS Main Examination 2024, out of which more than 71,000 candidates appeared in the examination. Ultimately, only 182 candidates were selected, reflecting the high level of competition and merit-based selection process.
He stated that the selected candidates have earned their positions through dedication, discipline, hard work, and determination.
Appointment as a Symbol of Public Trust and Responsibility
Addressing the newly appointed officers, CM Dhami said that these appointment letters are not merely documents for entering government service but a symbol of trust, expectations, and commitment of over 12.5 million people of Uttarakhand.
He emphasized that in public service, an officer’s identity is defined not by rank but by work ethics, sensitivity, and dedication to serving citizens.
Government’s Governance Philosophy: Service First
The Chief Minister reiterated that democracy does not mean ruling over people but serving them. He said the state government is working with the principles of simplification, resolution, delivery, and satisfaction.
He urged officers to ensure that government schemes and services reach even the most remote and marginalized sections of society with transparency and sensitivity.
Focus on Accessibility and Citizen Satisfaction
CM Dhami stressed that every citizen, especially those coming from remote areas, should experience respect, trust, and timely resolution in government offices.
He instructed the newly appointed officers to ensure effective and responsive governance at the grassroots level.
Strict Anti-Cheating Law Strengthens Recruitment Trust
Highlighting reforms in recruitment processes, CM Dhami stated that the state has implemented one of the country’s strictest anti-cheating laws to ensure transparency in examinations.
Due to these reforms, youth trust in government recruitment processes has significantly strengthened.
He also mentioned that in the last four and a half years, more than 34,000 youths have been appointed in government services through fair and transparent procedures.
Youth Empowerment and State Development Vision
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s goal of ensuring that no youth has to leave the state in search of employment. He said Uttarakhand’s development strategy is based on utilizing both “the water and the youth of the hills” as its greatest strengths.
He also referred to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who described the third decade of the 21st century as the “decade of Uttarakhand” during his address from Kedarnath.

The event was attended by several senior leaders and officials, including Cabinet Ministers Ganesh Joshi, Dhan Singh Rawat, and Ram Singh Kaira, along with MLA Savita Kapoor, Gorkha Welfare Council Chairperson Jyoti Kotia, Chief Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, and multiple senior secretaries and departmental officials.
Other notable officials present included Shailesh Bagoli, Dilip Jawalkar, Raveenath Raman, Chandresh Kumar, Brijesh Kumar Sant, Vinay Shankar Pandey, S.N. Pandey, DG Home Guards Dr. P.V.K.
