Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has welcomed the development of Sarona and Balod railway stations under the central government’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, calling it a major step towards modernising railway infrastructure and improving passenger facilities in the state.
Raipur Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Dayanand met Chief Minister Sai at the Chief Minister’s Residence Office in Raipur and presented an invitation from Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the inauguration ceremony of the newly developed railway stations.
The inauguration programme will mark the completion of redevelopment work carried out under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Modern Passenger Facilities and Infrastructure Upgradation Discussed
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sai and DRM Dayanand discussed the upgraded facilities, improved infrastructure and the new look of Sarona and Balod railway stations.
The redevelopment work focuses on creating modern, comfortable and passenger-friendly stations equipped with improved amenities and better services.
CM Sai said that the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a visionary initiative aimed at making Indian Railways more modern, safe, convenient and focused on passenger needs.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for strengthening railway infrastructure across the country.
He said Indian Railways is undergoing a major transformation, with railway stations being upgraded with modern facilities, improved passenger services and world-class infrastructure.
According to the Chief Minister, railway stations are not only centres of transportation but also important drivers of:

- Trade and business activities
- Tourism development
- Employment opportunities
- Regional connectivity
He expressed confidence that the redevelopment of Sarona and Balod railway stations will provide better facilities to passengers and accelerate economic and social activities in the surrounding regions.

CM Sai highlighted that the coordinated efforts of the central and state governments are rapidly expanding modern railway infrastructure in Chhattisgarh.

PM Modi to Virtually Inaugurate Redeveloped Stations
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate redeveloped and upgraded railway stations across the country on July 17.
The scheme aims to transform railway stations into modern, accessible, safe and passenger-friendly facilities while improving India’s overall transportation infrastructure.
The redevelopment of Sarona and Balod railway stations is expected to enhance travel experiences and contribute to the overall development of Chhattisgarh.
