RAS Topper Rashi Kumawat: Meet The Supermom Who Balanced Government Job, Motherhood & Dreams to Secure 6th Rank

Jaipur’s Rashi Kumawat, a gold medalist engineer and working mother, secured 6th rank in RAS 2023 through self-study - balancing her job, one-year-old daughter, and dreams with sheer determination and discipline.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

When dreams burn bright enough, even the chaos of life bows down. Jaipur’s Rashi Kumawat, who secured the 6th rank in the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) 2023, has proved that no obstacle – not even a full-time job or motherhood – can dim the determination of a focused mind. A gold medalist engineer, an officer, and a mother – Rashi’s journey is a testament to how quiet perseverance can lead to thunderous success.

Background: From a Brilliant Student to a Dream Chaser

Born and raised in Jaipur’s Tonk Phatak area, Rashi Kumawat was known for her brilliance since childhood. She scored 96.4% in her 10th and 92.8% in her 12th – both milestones that made her one of the toppers of her school. Her sharp intellect and disciplined approach soon took her to MNIT Jaipur, where she pursued Electronics Engineering and graduated as a Gold Medalist.

Even after achieving academic excellence, Rashi’s ambitions did not stop. She joined the government service in 2019 as an Information Assistant in the Department of Labor, but deep inside, her dream of wearing the prestigious RAS officer’s badge remained alive.

Her husband, Mahesh Kumawat, a Rajasthan Judicial Service (RJS) officer, stood by her side throughout her journey, becoming her pillar of strength.

Journey So Far: From Information Assistant to RAS Officer

While many candidates devote years of full-time preparation to competitive exams, Rashi’s path was far more demanding. Balancing office hours at the Joint Labor Commissioner’s office in Hasanpura, Jaipur, managing household responsibilities, and raising her one-year-old daughter – she still found time to chase her RAS dream.

Her first attempt came in 2021, but she failed to clear the Preliminary Examination. Instead of being disheartened, Rashi turned her failure into motivation. “I believed in myself,” she recalls. “I decided that next time I would pass this exam without coaching.”

What followed was a three-year-long disciplined self-study routine — mornings before work, evenings after putting her daughter to sleep. Books and test series became her only companions.

Preparation Strategy: Self-Study, Notes, and Test Series

Rashi’s preparation style was simple yet extremely effective. Without joining any coaching institute, she relied solely on self-study, test series, and her handwritten notes.

She said, “Even after my office work, I used every free minute to study. Early mornings and late nights were my only options.”

Rather than chasing countless study materials, Rashi focused on revision and consistency. She analyzed her mistakes in mock tests and refined her strategy over time.

Her approach demonstrates that it’s not about how many hours you study – it’s about how sincerely you use those hours.

Turning Points: Balancing Motherhood, Work, and Preparation

For Rashi, the toughest part of the journey began when she started preparing seriously in 2021 — the same year her daughter turned one. With a baby in her lap and books on the table, Rashi embodied the spirit of true perseverance.

She admits, “The most challenging phase was managing my one-year-old daughter, office work, and studies all at once. There were days when I was completely exhausted, but I kept reminding myself why I started.”

Her story became one of resilience – of a mother who studied through sleepless nights, of an officer who never let fatigue overshadow focus, and of a dreamer who refused to quit.

Interview Experience: Grace Under Pressure

Rashi’s interview experience was both analytical and insightful. Coming from a B.Tech (Electronics Engineering) background, she was asked several technical and situational questions.

She recalls being asked about radar engineering and the role of technology in aviation safety, including questions on plane crashes. The panel also tested her administrative insight by asking, “How will you promote the Hindi language?” and “How would you handle the responsibilities of an SDM?”

Although Rashi was from an English-medium background, she confidently answered all questions in Hindi, proving her adaptability and composure. “I actually enjoyed the Hindi questions,” she said with a smile.

Faith, Family, and the Power of Support

Behind every strong woman stands a family that believes in her – and Rashi’s journey is no exception. She credits her parents, in-laws, husband, and God for her success.

“My family gave me the courage to continue. They took care of my daughter when I had to study. Without their emotional and moral support, this would not have been possible,” she said.

This unwavering support system became her backbone as she transformed challenges into stepping stones.

Message to Aspirants: Believe in Yourself and Be Consistent

To all the aspirants who dream of cracking competitive exams, Rashi’s message is simple yet profound:

“Believe in yourself. Even if you fail once, don’t stop trying. Discipline, consistency, and faith are your best teachers.”

She emphasizes that self-study can be as effective as coaching, provided one has a structured plan and determination. Her journey stands as proof that you can achieve greatness even from your study table at home.

A New Beginning: The Officer with Purpose

Now appointed as a Joint Labor Commissioner in Jaipur, Rashi is ready to dedicate herself to public service with humility and hard work. “Whatever department I’m posted to, I’ll work with complete dedication and honesty,” she affirms.

Her transformation – from a gold medalist engineer to a working mother, and now a top-ranking administrative officer – reflects not just academic brilliance but also emotional strength and moral conviction.

The Supermom Who Redefined Success

When the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) declared the final RAS 2023 results, joy echoed across the state. Among the 972 new administrative officers, Rashi Kumawat’s name in the Top 10 (Rank 6) symbolized more than success – it represented courage, patience, and persistence.

Her story tells every working woman, every mother, and every dreamer that no dream is too distant if your heart is steadfast.

Rashi Kumawat is not just an RAS officer – she is an inspiration, a role model, and a supermom who proved that real power lies in perseverance.
